Credential-on-File
If your ConnectBooster portal is connected to the Bambora gateway, then the following applies to you.
The Payment Card Networks (Visa, MasterCard, Discovery, and Amex) have introduced new rules on how the credentials are obtained, stored, and processed to improve the Cardholder experience.
When do the requirements come into effect?
These requirements will come into effect September 1, 2019. Any business that offers Cardholders the opportunity to store their payment information on file must:
- Disclose to Cardholders how their stored payment information will be used;
- Obtain Cardholders’ consent to store this payment information;
- Notify Cardholders when any changes are made to the terms of use;
- Ensure transactions contain the necessary payment details when storing or using Credential-on-File (payment information).
What this means for a ConnectBooster customer:
#1 - On your business website, you will need to add information to satisfy this requirement. Details are below with the "Secure Badge".
#2 - This is already satisfied when your customer adds a payment method on file through your portal. Consent is likely doubly obtained via your written & signed business service contract/agreement.
#3 - On your business website, you will need to add information to satisfy. No specifics are given, but you should have a general terms of use and inform clients if this changes.
#4 - ConnectBooster is up to date on the technical side to ensure the necessary payment details are contained.
Bambora Secure Badge
Bambora strongly recommends adding the Secure Badge to your business website.
This will meet the new #1 rule.
When a customer clicks the authorized Bambora logo, they'll be provided a tool that verifies your relationship with their secure, industry-certified processing services.
Make sure you enter the same website domain that is in your Company Information profile (within the Bambora Gateway). Secure Badge requires that your requesting URL is the same in your profile.
